Dear All,
I have recently been given the position of "Head Teacher" at Chung-Deh Christian College and I accept the title and position with the greatest humility and honour. I have been teaching at Chung-Deh for 8 years and I'm pleased to now be afforded the opportunity to expand my role in the college.
My new position as "Head Teacher" means that I will be acting as the liaison between students and teachers. In other words, if there is a problem, you should talk to me about it and I will take appropriate action where necessary. For example, if there are communication problems between teachers and students, or if a student feels they have been subject to unfair or biased treatment in the classroom, it will be my job to look into the situation. Sharing positive or negative feedback about classes is also welcome as it will keep teachers aware of classroom concerns.
In addition to my liaison duties, I will also have office hours every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. in our Kuan Chien building. Students wishing to discuss future academic decisions or seeking advice about enrolling in a foreign university are welcome. If you wish to have a quick chat about something, you are free to drop in. If you, however, need to discuss something more involved or time consuming, you are urged to make an appointment beforehand. My door is always open (unless it's closed).
The college will shortly be publishing an English monthly newsletter. The primary purpose of the monthly newsletter is to create a stronger sense of community among students at the college. After the first edition has been published, I'll be asking for submissions of articles, photographs, and just about anything else you can imagine from students. Later plans include creating an all-English website for the use of students and teachers. The ultimate goal is to bring students and teachers closer and to nurture an English speaking environment at the college.
I'm very pleased about the new opportunities that lie before us as a college and look forward to working with everyone to find ways to make the Chung-Deh experience a truly memorable one.
Sincerely,
Paul Rosevere |
